Competitions - Summer Valley Public School
Recognizing the importance of providing educational activities that enrich and broaden student experiences as an integral part of the curriculum as well as beyond the normal academic day, Summery Valley Public School Committee supports the development of co-curricular and extra-curricular programs in accordance with the policies established by the School Department.
Activities are designed to meet the needs of and to stimulate interests expressed by students and cover a broad range of abilities. The wide range of activities is planned in all the classes so that the children actively take part and cater their interest and abilities. No child is left behind. To face this challenging world, various activities and competitions like Elocution, Debates, Story Telling, Weave a Story, Dance, Song, Fancy Dress, and Musical.
Throughout the school, a rich co-curricular programme of sport, dance, music, art, clay, drama and hobby classes( Clubs) run parallel to the academic curriculum. Students enjoy cricket, badminton tennis and table tennis, basketball, soccer, as part of the school curriculum and have the opportunity of participating in track and field events, various school sports programmes, as well as training in specific disciplines through after school coaching programmes.
At SVPS, students are able to participate in a number of activities both inter school and intra school which cover wide interests such as debates, quizzing, creative writing, drama, Indian and Western music and elocution. Our students are encouraged to be aware of and be sensitive to cultural and environmental issues and there exist a number of opportunities to participate in ongoing initiatives. Students have the opportunity to take part in any or all of the following over and above their inter-house activities, assemblies, school functions and after school activity clubs(optional).
